Indie Rogue-Like Dicefolk Launches

If you checked out my previous article talking about some great free demos, you might remember the rogue-like, creature-collecting, turn-based strategy, dice-rolling, deck-building game, Dicefolk. It really is a mouthful to talk about all the elements this game brings together. While the demo is just a snapshot of the full game, the experience that I had trying it out has me hooked, so I look forward to playing the full game.

Co-developers LEAP Game Studios and Tiny Ghoul created something special with this game. Players collect various chimera that have unique abilities that can be utilized in 3v3 turn-based rotation battles. Only three chimera can be in the party at any given time, so it’s important to build a team with great synergy. Between battles, players can find new chimeras, visit shops, and upgrade their dice.

I know it sounds like there is a lot to this game and there is, my first try of the demo immediately showed me how deep the strategy can go, but there’s still a lot more to discover. The demo teases new areas to explore, new classes to try, and of course, tons of more chimera to unlock.

If this sounds interesting to you, I highly recommend trying the demo to get a sense for it. Though fair warning, it could easily become your new addiction.

Have you tried Dicefolk? Will you be buying the full game? Should I write a review? Leave a comment below to share your thoughts!
