Flock Announces July 16th Release Date
Today in a new trailer that mimics a well-known nature documentarian, Annapurna Interactive (Stray, Neon White, & Cocoon), along with the developers Richard Hogg and Hollow Ponds (Hohokum & I Am Dead), announced that their upcoming multiplayer co-op game Flock will launch on July 16th. Players will be able to play on day one with Xbox Game Pass, but it will also be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Steam.
Flock is a beautiful game about the joy of flight, finding, observing, and collecting unique, adorable creatures that call the Uplands home. Players will soar on the backs of giant colorful birds through vibrant landscapes, building up a flock of various followers to enjoy and show off to friends. The game can be experienced solo or co-op with a fellow bird-riding partner.
Players become shepherds, leading a flock of hover sheep through the landscape to find fresh pastures. These sheep then provide wool that can be fashioned into hats, cardigans, and socks to customize your character’s appearance.
If Flock looks interesting, you don’t have to wait until July, because a free demo is still available on Steam which will take you through the first hour of gameplay. I’ve tried it myself and it comes highly recommended. As someone who has had this game on their radar for a long time, I’m glad to finally have a release date to look forward to. Check out Flock’s Steam page to download the demo and put it on your wishlist.
